Thanksgiving holiday
My parents have already made a reservation for the 12th / 6th plane ticket to return home. My mother never forgets the photos we showed her when we went to the Redwood National Park. I always want to see the big trees. My parents are old. We are so far apart that we have to fly for more than ten hours to see each other. Even if we meet once a year, we are very happy to see 30 of them, I'll try my best to meet the wishes of my parents, even though it's not the best time to go to these national parks. Take them on Thanksgiving holiday. My husband's cervical vertebra problem is almost the same, so we started by self driving, and my sister asked to take my nephew with us. So this time, 2 big 2 old 3 kids... It's really helping the old and the young.. ha-ha
[pre trip preparation - practical tips for carrying the old and supporting the young]:
1.Check the weather forecast before departure. It's cold in the first two days and hot in the next two days, so you have to prepare clothes to keep out the cold and sun.
2.The two old people only eat Chinese food, not western food. I prepared an electric cooker to cook, pickled meat and pickled mustard. It has nothing to do with money, because I was in the forest park all the way. If there was no emergency food, it would take me two hours to go from hungry to looking for a restaurant or having something to eat. It gets dark early in winter, and it will be dark after 4 o'clock. If we waste time looking for food, we will have no time to play.
3.For children's clothes, I took three children to travel. Each child had to prepare two more sets of clothes, socks and shoes. Because the playing snow was all wet, they had to change into dry ones, or they would get sick easily.
4.The snow is very slippery. Take the elderly and children with you. Pay special attention. If the elderly falls, other diseases may be caused. Three children, my own 7-year-old, a 4-year-old and my niece 6-year-old, are all playful and playful, so I have to tell them from time to time. We are taking a one-on-one strategy, in addition to the old man hanging around looking at the scenery, thinking that the husband is holding the daughter, I am holding the son, and my mother is holding the niece.
5.Fruit is essential. It's convenient to book a room in the city to go to the supermarket to replenish fresh food.
6.You must install snow chains when you go to the snow mountain. Unless you are a 4WD driver with a snow tire, you can't guarantee your safety. Besides, you will also get a ticket from the police uncle. There is no turning back when you start the bow. Don't take chances. If you go up, you can't turn around on the mountain road. No snow chain up the mountain is not responsible for their own, is not responsible for others.
[total cost]
Because this time I drove my own car, and I went to the supermarket to buy food and go back to the hotel to cook, so I saved money
Hotel $390 + gas $160 + meals $150 + tickets purple beach $10 + snow chain $145, total $855
Divided by 7 people, the average person is $122, equivalent to RMB 793 / person

[tickets]
Yosemite and Redwood National Parks can use the National Park annual tickets I bought before. Please refer to my previous travel notes for details http://you.ctrip.com/travels/losangeles250/2676348.html
[main attractions]
Sequoia National Park & King Canyon National Park:
Discovered in 1858, it is one of the natural wonders of the world. The park is the largest redwood forest in the world, just like many green skyscrapers. The shadow of the trees once enveloped the redwood in North America. The height and age of the Redwood are the differences. The trunk diameter of Sequoia can reach 49 feet. In terms of volume, there is no other tree in the world that can compare with it; Come here to visit the 3000 year old tree god of giant forest, one of the largest and oldest trees in the world. The collapse of hollow giant trees is common in this area, which can be seen by tourists.
The largest tree inside is called General Sherman, which is the largest tree in the world.
Yosemite National Park:
Yosemite National Park is as famous as Grand Canyon National Park and Yellowstone National Park... It's going to take a long vacation to get there), in the Sierra Nevada Mountains in eastern California.
Yosemite National Park also has three huge world Yeh (giant FIR) forests, which are thousands of years old and magnificent (my camera can't shoot the top). There are many kinds of wild animals in the park, including deer, squirrels, grizzly bears, black bears, mountain lions, wolves and foxes.
The National Park is famous for its spectacular granite cliffs, waterfalls, clear streams, giant fir and rich biodiversity. More than 95% of the land in the park is designated as wilderness
Growing more than 1400 species of plants, Yosemite Valley was covered by glaciers during the last glacial period. The cliffs on both sides are full of traces cut by glaciers. The most famous is half dome.
17 mile drive:
California Highway 1 is known as the most magical and beautiful highway in the world. It is built along the mountain and coast. Precipitous rock faces and sheer cliffs, the seventeen mile Gold Coast is the most outstanding part of the world's most famous California highway. The blue sea, blue sky, flowers and rocks are everywhere. Squirrels, seabirds and seals, cliffs and ancient pine and cypresses are everywhere. The scenery is beautiful. It is known as the world's land, ocean and blue sky, and is recognized as an ideal holiday resort. Passing by it is like passing by a scroll of paintings, which is an unforgettable spiritual journey.
Pfeiffer Beach:
After about two steps of Pfeiffer Big Sur State Park, take a sharp right turn from sycamore Canyon Road, and all the way down the mountain is the mysterious purple beach Pfeiffer beach. Both sides of the mountain road are full of green, and the dense forest ferns seem to have reached the temperate rainforest. There is really deep and shallow purple sand on the beach. If it is under the blue sky and white clouds, it must be the pink purple of dreams, not the dark color of cloudy days. There is also a cave on the reef by the sea. At sunset in December every year, countless guns and cannons line up, waiting for the golden waves to gush out of the cave like lava
海象滩Piedras Blancas Elephant Seal Rookery:
Hundreds of seals gather in the sand to rest. The scene is quite spectacular. The seals lie idly and lazily on the beach, occasionally making a cry like a baby's cry.
San Luis Bay Avila Beach:
Drive west along San Luis Bay, pass Avila Beach, which I visited yesterday evening, and then pass a nuclear power plant hidden in the Diablo Canyon to Harford pier at the bottom of the road. There are many sea lions under the wharf. Some of them are naughty, some are quiet, and some of them are lying on the dock doing sunbathing, sleeping and stretching.
Solvang, Denmark:
Pure Danish village, ancient windmill, North European architecture outlines the outline of the village. Developed by Danes in 1911, it is one of the beautiful small towns in Western America. There are special bread, cookies, wine, chocolate... Very famous, don't miss the opportunity to taste! There are Andersen Park, Andersen Museum and ancient church nearby; The quiet streets have "bicycles for six" and carriages to rent.
Oxnard:
With seven miles of coastline and cruise docks, it is known as the yacht capital.
[self driving road map]
The purple box is the city where the hotel stays at night, and the red box is the main scenic spot of the day. The whole process is set by navigation, and the landmarks are set according to the English names given by the main scenic spots above.
This diagram mainly lists what the scenic spot mainly looks at

[real photos]
All the way up the mountain scenery is quite beautiful, into the park gate was told must have snow chain equipment can go up the mountain. If we were not prepared, she gave us a list, which said where the shops and gas stations nearby had snow chains to rent or buy.
We picked the nearest one and went back to buy it. It's 55 dollars a day for rent and 145 dollars a day for purchase. We wanted to use it in the future, so we bought one directly. It doesn't need to be installed at the foot of the mountain.
Here, the forest police began to stop the vehicles and asked them to install snow chains
It's easy for husband to pretend by himself, he said
Although not the best season, but a heavy snow let us see a wonderful snow.
You see, the road is like this, so we have to have snow chains
This is the legendary bench, right
This is the largest snow covered general tree
The view from the skylight
The children are playing happily
Because the heavy snow sealed many scenic spots, so in addition to the snow scenery, many other can't see
Let me show you the photos I went to in May 2014
Let's have an impression
The park is very large. It's a winding mountain road like this. The highest road is 7000 feet. When I go down the mountain, my ears sound like flying
Fallen trees can be opened to traffic
Climb this Moro rock. Rush when you go up
When I went down the mountain, I bent my waist and tilted my legs
The scenery here is super beautiful
It's amazing
But it's dangerous. Some cliffs can only be passed by one person
People know how big a tree is by reference
People are like a bunch of ants
Hume Lake feels like a little Switzerland
This is the life I'm looking forward to
The family watched the sunset in a beautiful place
The fallen tree can make a passage for people to pass through
The contrast is a couple of foreigners
That woman's waist is as thick as five of mine. She still looks very small under this tree
The road passes between the trees
This is Yosemite. It's also snowy
The prairies that used to run were covered with snow
Also because of the heavy snow, we can't go up the mountain
Let's see Yosemite I went to in August 2013
Tens of thousands of years of glacial movement is really spectacular
The guy in the middle is half dome
This is the big stone that many people risk their lives to climb out to take photos
I'm afraid of S... ha-ha
See that little snake in the middle? It's a highway. Little by little, it's a car
Glacierpoint overlooks the whole valley and feels the beauty of shock. Walking along the valley, you can feel the charm of beauty.
This circle of grass is like a rainbow
These sightseeing buses and shuttle buses are all free
Uncle policeman on horseback
See those little ants
It's only by contrast that we can imagine the waterfall. The photos are not shocking
